Jetting Pink Across America – SMOV October Fund Raiser

Send Me On Vacation (SMOV) Charity kicks off October multi-city fund raisers and walks being held in honor of local breast cancer survivors who have endured the physical and emotional effects breast cancer has had on their lives. SMOV provides a much needed vacation to women with cancer who have undergone treatment and need a place to rejuvenate and heal their body, mind and spirit.
Send Me On Vacation is proud to announce that it will be partnering with Jet Blue Airlines, Club Med, Diamond Resorts International, Zappos and Zonin-USA in order to “Jet Pink” across America for Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October.
SFX Preferred Resorts, supporting SMOV since its inception over 4 years ago, is proud to be one of the charity’s vacation providers to these brave cancer survivors and their families.
Cory Phelps, Senior Vice President of SFX, was excited to start on his journey as part of the Jetting Pink event, in support of this important multi-city SMOV ground breaking series of fund raisers. “I’m excited to do what we can to support the mission of SMOV on behalf of SFX Preferred Resorts. This charity continues to inspire our organization to spread the word about this very important cause. Mel Grant (Owner) and I are honored to be a part of it.”
In addition to partnering with national sponsors, the Send Me on Vacation has also attracted many local sponsors in each city. These local sponsors encourage community support of this worthy cause.
In each of the six cities, a walk will be held in honor of local breast cancer survivors who have endured the physical and emotional effects breast cancer has had on their lives. At each of the stops, a vacation will be awarded to numerous breast cancer survivors during a fundraising event held in each city. In total, over 12 women from five cities will be given the chance to enjoy a dream vacation after surviving treatment for breast cancer.
Send Me On Vacation selected six members from the organization to jet from San Francisco (Napa Valley Wine Train Oct 2) to New York (Oct 6 at Anejo Tequillaria, Tribeca, NY) from Washington D.C. ( Oct 7 at the White House) to Los Angeles CA (Oct 9 at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel) and end the tour in Las Vegas, Nevada (Oct 11th at The Container Park).
Icema Gibbs, Director of Corporate Social Responsibility for JetBlue Airways, “JetBlue was delighted to provide flights to help breast cancer survivors go on their dream vacations. As flying is our core business, this was a perfect fit for us. We align our in-kind support with our crewmembers’ passions. One of our pilots volunteers for the organization and was instrumental in developing this partnership,” We are excited to support worthy causes, such as Send Me On Vacation.”
