What’s Coming to Grupo Vidanta Resorts

Many of our members have visited and toured resorts by Grupo Vidanta. Constantly innovative, the resort group has made some exciting announcements about what’s next for their resort development. In 2015, Grupo Vidanta brought Cirque du Soleil to Mexico. Now they are partnering with other entertainment groups and expanding their Cirque du Soleil attractions for even greater guest experiences.

New Dayclubs and Nightlife by Hakkasan

The latest development at Grupo Vidanta is a partnership with Hakkasan Group to bring dayclubs and nightlife to Vidanta resorts. Hakkasan Group is one of the legendary entertainment organizations, with their most renown club based in Las Vegas, Nevada. The two companies recently agreed to join together and bring new venues to Vidanta resorts that include new dining and entertainment options for guests.
The partnership has led to a $150 million investment into new beach clubs, nightlife venues and a new hotel. Iván Chávez, the Executive Vice President of Grupo Vidanta, commented on why this was so important for the guest experience. “Tourists to Mxico are looking for the world’s top-quality entertianment experiences presented in a local flavor, and that is exactly what we intend to deliver.”
First up for debut: An Omnia dayclub at Grand Mayan Los Cabos in San Jose del Cabo. Next up will include Herringbone, a restaurant with coastal, seasonal dishes. Another restaurant is planned to debut in partnership with H. Wood Group, the people behind Bootsy Bellows in Los Angeles and Heart of Omnia at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas.
Cabo projects are set to debut in the later half of 2017.

New Cirque du Soleil Theme Park

Vidanta offers some of the most progressive entertianment for travelers in Mexico. In 2015, the Grand Riviera Maya Resort opened JOYA by Cirque du Soleil, one of the top-rated attractions for dining and entertainment in the area. The success of JOYA has led to a new announcement that a Cirque du Soleil Theme Park will soon open at Nuevo Vallarta. The billion-dollar theme park is currently in development but will likely open in 2018. The expansion will include three in-park resort hotels and a full Cirque du Soleil show and water experience with the capacity for up to 5,000 spectators.
